Bustisha Wakala

Bustisha Wakala is a digital service overdraft facility designed exclusively for Mixx Agents to support day-to-day liquidity needs and ensure uninterrupted service to customers. The product enables eligible agents to access short-term working capital to facilitate transactions when their float balance is temporarily insufficient.

The facility is intended strictly for business operations and supports agents in maintaining service availability, improving customer experience, and increasing transaction volumes.

Key Bustisha Wakala Features include:

  • Access to a short-term overdraft facility for agents only
  • Use of funds restricted to agent service transactions such as cash in, bill payments, and any other transactions registered by Mixx when the agent attempts to overdraft by finding that he/she has insufficient balance
  • Automated repayment from agent commissions and incoming transactions
  • Pre-defined limits
  • Real-time access and monitoring via the agent USSD Menu

What is Bustisha Wakala?
Bustisha Wakala is a service overdraft facility designed to support Mixx Agents in completing customer transactions when they do not have sufficient float. The service enables Mixx Agents to continue serving customers while minimizing service disruption and maximizing business continuity.
Bustisha Wakala is available exclusively to Mixx Agents.
To join the service dial *150*01# > Select “Financial Services” > Select > Bustisha Wakala > Select “Continue”. After accepting the Terms and Conditions, the agent will receive a confirmation SMS with their current Bustisha Wakala limit.
When a transaction fails due to insufficient funds, a push notification will be triggered to guide agents to complete the transaction through Bustisha Wakala, provided the amount is within their limit.
On the first 24 hours (Day 1), no charges will apply. From Day 2 onwards, the agent will incur a daily service fee ranging from 0.1% to 1.1%, which will accumulate based on the number of days in default, up to a maximum cumulative charge of 2.9%.
Repayment occurs automatically once the agent floats their account.
The outstanding amount must be paid within the first 24 hours of taking the loan to avoid extra charges.

If repayment is not made within the stipulated time:

  • The agent will be restricted from further use of Bustisha Wakala
  • A late fee of 0.1% to 1.1% will be charged on the outstanding amount
  • Alternatively, the outstanding amount may be offset from the agent’s commission

  • Float balance before transaction: TZS 10,000
  • Customer Cash-In amount: TZS 15,000
  • Amount utilized via Bustisha Wakala: TZS 5,000
  • Balance after transaction: TZS 0
  • Total amount due: TZS 5,000
  • Tuesday – 00:00 PM
  • Outstanding amount: TZS 5,005
  • Delay fee (0.1%): TZS 5.05
  • Total outstanding: TZS 5,005.

Dial *150*01# > Select “Bustisha Wakala” > Select “Bustisha Wakala Limit” > Enter PIN. The available overdraft limit will be displayed.

Bustisha Wakala enables agents to:

  • Continue serving customers without interruption
  • Completing transactions even with limited float
  • Increase transaction volumes, commissions, and overall profitability

Yes. Dial *150*01# > Select “Bustisha Wakala” > Select “Outstanding Balance” > Enter PIN

Yes. Agents may access the service multiple times, provided they remain within their approved overdraft limit.

No separate account is required. The funds are applied directly to complete the transaction.
Agents may contact Mixx by Yas support through existing channels, including Customer Service (101), Authorized service centers & Regional or Territory managers.
